The browser extension
Mark the parts of your page you want to sell — on your own live page, in your own browser, looking at the thing exactly as your readers do.
This is a beta. It is not in the Chrome Web Store yet, so installing it takes four steps instead of one. Chrome only for now — Firefox and Safari are not supported.
What it does
The website can already do this: you give us your address, we fetch your page and show it back to you, and you click what to sell. That works, and it has one limit — we can only show you what our own fetch can see.
The extension marks the page as it really renders, after your scripts have run, with everything in place. A headline over a video, a section your theme builds in the browser, anything behind your own login — all of it is markable, and none of it survives being fetched by a stranger.
It writes nothing onto your page and changes nothing about it. Marking is a drawing over the top; your page is untouched when you close it.
Before you download it
You need a PageMarkets account, and the extension uses the one you are already signed into in this browser — there is no separate login. Sign in first and it works the moment you install it.
Signing in here uses a wallet you already have. If you do not have one, the flow at /onboard is the same product and needs no extension.
Install it

- Unzip the file. You will get a folder with a manifest.json inside it. Keep it somewhere permanent — Chrome loads it from where it sits, so deleting the folder uninstalls the extension.
- Open chrome://extensions by typing it into your address bar.
- Turn on Developer mode, top right. That is what lets Chrome run an extension that did not come from the store.
- Press Load unpacked and choose the folder you unzipped. Pin it to your toolbar so you can find it.
Chrome warns you about developer-mode extensions each time it starts. That is expected here, and it stops once this is in the store.
Using it
- Go to the page you want to sell space on — your own page, the real one.
- Click the PageMarkets button in your toolbar. A panel appears in the corner and your page does not move.
- Click what you want to sell — either an element you already have, or a new empty box between two things. Name it and price it as you go.
- Press Done, then finish on PageMarkets. Nothing is permanent until you confirm it there.
What it can see
- Only when you click it
- It does nothing until you press the button, and then only on the tab you pressed it on. It is not running in the background and it cannot read your other tabs.
- Only PageMarkets
- It sends the regions you marked and the address of the page you marked them on, to PageMarkets and nowhere else. There is no analytics in it and no third-party code.
- It never signs anything
- Everything that costs money or goes on the record happens on the website, where you confirm it yourself.

Telling us it broke
It is a beta, and the interesting failures are on pages we have never seen. If a region will not mark, or the panel says something that turns out to be wrong about your page, the useful thing to send is the address of the page and what you expected to happen.
